Trainee scheme pays off

AES School Based Trainee with Woodside in Perth, Abbie-Rose Scott, 18, talks of the success she has found through the program. “When I first heard about the traineeship it really appealed to me. I filled out the application form, had two interviews with the AES and Woodside and then got the job”.

There are school based and full time programs for those in their senior years at school or just finished their HSC.

Indigenous Australians offered chance to Clime to the top
Financial Standard

Clime Asset Management welcomes an Aboriginal trainee into its business in November, with the view to helping them develop into an investment professional.
Clime has signed up to a school based traineeship program run by the Aboriginal Employment Strategy, which aims to help young indigenous people find employment and build careers.

Pathway to careers appeals to youth

The federal government’s announcement to commit to indigenous youth careers through the Indigenous Youth Careers Pathway Program corresponded with the release of the first survey into the aspirations of young indigenous Australians.
The AES Careers Report drew the conclusion that indigenous Australians want the same as the rest of us: a good job, a solid career path, job security and a place to call their own.
